The National Institute of Biologicals' objective is to provide the government of India with a world-class facility for the development and validation of standards in quality control testing procedures for biological and immunobiological products.

Representing a major component of a 74,000 square meter site development in Uttar Pradesh, India, the building houses four primary functional areas: laboratories, vivarium, offices and utility/support facilities. The plan separates a three-story laboratory wing from the three-story animal facility with a three-story office block. The utility/support structure connects with the laboratory and animal wings at the first floor only.  The laboratories are designed to meet current United States codes and design standards.
